Mon père a peint une quantité incroyable d'instruments de musique; c'est étonnant, car il n'aimait pas spécialement écouter de la musique, trouvant que cela embrouillait son esprit! Moi, certainement inspiré par ses tableaux, je suis devenu un bassiste amateur & un mélomane d'une curiosité sans limites. Henri Carcelle est un pianiste français, inventeur génial & oublié, d'un nouveau clavier & d'une nouvelle notation révolutionnaire pour piano : " le clavier chromatique proportionnel". Il fut un des grands & rares amis de mon père.

My father painted an incredible amount of musical instruments; it's amazing, because he didn't particularly like listening to music, finding it confusing his mind! Me, certainly inspired by his paintings, I became an amateur bassist & a music lover of limitless curiosity. Henri Carcelle is a French pianist, brilliant & forgotten inventor of a new keyboard & a new revolutionary notation for piano: "the proportional chromatic keyboard". He was one of my father's great & rare friends.
