Le miroir magique est un miroir appartenant à l'univers du merveilleux. Il est tour à tour doué de parole, capable de révéler par l'image des vérités invisibles ou les souhaits les plus profonds.
Dans Blanche-Neige des frères Grimm, il appartient à la reine, la marâtre de l'héroïne. Il répond à sa maîtresse lorsqu'elle lui demande si elle est la plus belle. Incapable de mentir, il est le symbole de la Vérité. C'est ainsi qu'il lui apprend que Blanche-Neige la surpasse en beauté, et qu'elle n'est pas morte contrairement aux ordres qu'elle a passés.

The magic mirror is a mirror belonging to the universe of the marvelous. He is in turn gifted with words, capable of revealing invisible truths or the deepest wishes through images.
In the Grimm brothers' Snow White, he belongs to the queen, the stepmother of the heroine. He answers his mistress when she asks her if she is the most beautiful. Unable to lie, he is the symbol of Truth. This is how he tells her that Snow White surpasses her in beauty, and that she did not die contrary to the orders she placed.
