Dans les années 70, il y avait encore à Aups (où nous habitions) ce genre de porte-voix, généralement, le garde-champêtre, qui communiquait les nouvelles à l'ancienne, avec une voix de chanteur d'opéra! Et puis il y eut les appareils électriques, la radio diffusée dans la rue, les gardes-champêtres sont devenus des policiers municipaux....Les aspects charmants & pittoresques sont devenus des souvenirs, il est loin le temps de Giono & de la Provence Authentique! ( Non je n'ai pas parlé de Pagnol!)
In the 70s, there was still in Aups (where we lived) this kind of megaphone, generally, the gardener, who communicated the news in the old fashioned way, with the voice of an opera singer! And then there were the electrical appliances, the radio broadcast in the street, the rural guards became municipal police officers .... The charming & picturesque aspects have become memories, the time of Giono & Provence is long gone. Authentic! (No I did not mention Pagnol!)
